The Georgia Prevention Institute is a research facility dedicated to reducing chronic disease. Offering body composition testing to the public is one way for the Institute to fund their research.

At the Georgia Prevention Institute you can receive a DEXA scan, pQCt (3-dimensional bone scans,) and transient elastography to determine liver health. The Institute uses the Hologic Discovery-W DEXA scanner for whole body scans. This means that you get a bone density reading along with a measure of your body fat composition.

The Georgia Prevention Institute is located within the Augusta University Medical Center off of GA-28.
